Paintings, sculptures and prints by Tim Storrier

What mediums does Storrier work in?

Most paintings by Tim Storrier are painted on stretched canvas (this is usually linen to be more accurate). Storrier used to regularly producing paintings on board (40x50cm was a common size) but this is not currently much used as a practice. He has also done some stunning paintings on art paper in the past.

Tim Storrier is a brilliant draughtsman who produces exquisite drawings. These works on paper are often kept back by Storrier for his own collection and so they don’t come up for sale on the primary market often.

In recent years Storrier has produced an amazing trilogy of bronze sculptures. Starting with The Wayfarer based on his Archibald prize winning painting the series continued with The Impedimenta Collection and the recently released Equine Impedimenta series. The works are highly detailed and come in different sizes which facilitates indoor and outdoor placement. Images can be viewed in the Sculpture section on this artist’s page on this website.

Tim Storrier has also produced a wonderful series of limited edition works on paper over the course of his career. This involves a variety of etchings, lithographs, collagraphs and digital reproduction editions. More information specific to prints can be found below. Prints are usually at a lower price point compared to paintings and sculptures.

What Storrier paintings and sculptures are currently available?

Justin Combs of Artloft works as an agent for Tim Storrier and arranges the sale of his artworks on his behalf. He can arrange for personal viewings of Tim Storrier’s paintings at the artist’s studio gallery at Hopewood House Estate, Bowral NSW.

Tim Storrier’s paintings and sculptures are highly sought after. Questions regarding price and availability are best answered by getting in contact with Justin Combs directly by clicking on the enquiry button below the image of a Storrier work on this site or via one of the contact options listed on the contact page. We can then let you know what works are currently available.

A useful part of this process can be to focus on a particular size of work and/or budget. As Storrier uses a large range of canvas sizes the paintings are likewise priced over a large price range. Similar size/price options pertain to Storrier’s sculptures and (to a lesser extent) prints.

What is the price for a Storrier painting?

An individual painting’s price depends on a range of factors. The canvas size of a painting is relevant – however it may not be the most important factor in regards to the price of the work. It is best to contact us direct so that we can discuss individual works and their price.

Sometimes clients contact us to tell us about a particular Storrier painting they have seen that has already sold or is in a private/public collection. By letting us know that they like a certain piece it helps us to focus on what may be of particular interest from the works currently available. Alternatively if you have a certain price range in mind let us know and we can then discuss with you if any works are available in that range.

Do the paintings come framed?

Most of Storrier’s paintings come beautifully framed in hand-gilded gold frames. Storrier prefers water-gilded gold frames. This type of framing is fairly rare when compared to more commonly used techniques and is another factor in the relative uniqueness of a Storrier painting.

Unless stated the purchase price for a painting includes the frame. We find that there is occasionally an interest in purchasing a painting without a frame. This is sometimes possible and can be negotiated on a case by case basis. The final decision to sell the work unframed is always up to Tim Storrier.

Does Tim Storrier paint commissions?

The short answer is yes. Part of Justin Combs’ role as an agent for Tim Storrier is to negotiate commissions on his behalf. Please contact us directly if you would like to discuss this option in more detail.

What Storrier prints are currently available?

At the moment we are selling two different types of limited-edition prints (as agent for Tim Storrier).

Limited-edition digital prints are hand-signed reproductions of Storrier paintings. Prices for these prints are typically in the $1000 to $2500 price range (with some exceptions).

Hand-printed collagraphs are a beautiful alternate purchase option. These could be described as a modified form of woodcut printing where Storrier hand-painted an original image for the printmaker to use as a basis for printing the edition. These prints are very labour-intensive to make and have considerable surface texture. Prices for the Storrier collagraphs that we sell are typically around $5000 to $6000 (again with some exceptions).

All prints we sell are individually numbered and are hand-signed in pencil by Storrier. The size of the numbered edition varies but is typically between 40 to 90 prints plus a small number of proofs.

What about shipping?

Unless noted all Storrier paintings, sculptures and prints come with free door to door shipping within Australia. For shipping costs outside of Australia please contact us.

If you have any other questions about Tim Storrier and the brilliant artworks he creates please feel free to contact Justin Combs directly by clicking on one of the enquiry buttons when viewing a particular Storrier work or via one of the general contact options below and on our contact page.
